Can you name a book by its opening line?
If not, maybe you'll be intrigued enough to find the book and read further!

I sometimes end up with a completely different design between making the opening panel and the header...

Welcome to The First Line!, the virtual game show from Bellevue Public Library where you get a ticket for the Imagine Your Story adult library program grand prize drawing basket of your choice, just for answering literary trivia questions.
ENTER THE CONTEST!
You may not want to judge a book by its cover, but can you recognize these books by their first lines?
HOW TO PLAY:
Look carefully at the fifteen (15) opening lines from popular/classic books and name that book! Type out the book title in the answer blank on this Google Form. You will have from Wednesday, September 16 to Tuesday, September 22 to enter. Name as many as you can--you do not need to complete all of them; you will not be penalized for guessing.
WINNER:
At the end of the game, you will find a Secret Code to enter into our adult library program tracking software at Bellevue.Beanstack.org. Note the code, then enter it into your Beanstack account to get a ticket, then choose which Grand Prize Basket you would like a chance to win. Contest ends on Sept 22 at midnight-ish.
ELIGIBILITY:
You do need to have a Bellevue Library Card in order to win (but feel free to play even if you are out of the area!).
Library staff and board members may also play but are ineligible to win a prize (other than bragging rights!).
